GENERAL SUMMARY :
The Wellness Nurse provides direct and indirect care to residents in a sensitive, professional, and effective manner. The Wellness Nurse performs his / her duties under the supervision of the Resident Wellness Director while adhering to mandated nursing standards. The Wellness Nurse is responsible for maintaining compliance with all state and federal regulations while utilizing the standards of care policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :
Servant Leadership directs all aspects of decision makingServes as the “Charge Nurse for assigned shift ensuring residents are well cared forServe as the “Charge Nurse” in the absence of the Executive Director and Resident Wellness DirectorContributes to all aspects of medication management, including but not limited to; orders, administration, storage, documentation and as mandated by the State Regulations and Guidelines as well as Company policy and procedureAssures resident rooms and common areas are clean and safe at all timesAssure that all resident care specialists are familiar with the residents’ individual conditions and are trained to provide the resident services in an effective, professional and sensitive mannerAssist the residents with their self-medication or administration of medicationsResponsible Limited Nursing license daily recommendations and documentation (if applicable)Implements plans of care recommended by the Resident Wellness DirectorImplements change in condition plansProvides accurate and timely documentation of all care provided to residentsAssembles and maintains resident charting and accurately maintains all recordsCompletes accident and incident reports as requiredMaintains relationships with residents, family members and responsible partiesBe prepared for and manage emergency situations including disasters, fire and other emergenciesEnsures adequate and appropriately trained resident care specialists are available for each shift within company and state guidelinesMust be in company uniform and resident ready at all timesPerforms other related essential duties as assignedKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
Able to communicate effectively with all levels of management, team members, residents, family members, vendors, referral sources and outside contactsAble to make independent decisionsMust be able to communicate in a warm, friendly and caring mannerMust be familiar with and adhere to guidelines related to the Fair Housing Act (FHA) and the American with Disabilities Act (ADA)Must possess a passion to work with and around senior citizensKnowledge of customer service principles and practicesEDUCATION REQUIREMENTS :
LPN or RN licenseEXPERIENCE PREFERENCES :
Minimum One (1) year in the senior living environmentPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

Work in all areas of the communitySubject to reactions from dust, disinfectants and cleaning chemicals and may be exposed to infectious waste, diseases and other conditionsUse personal protective equipment and supplies when needed to prevent burns, falls, and infectionPersonal protective equipment includes infection control kit, rubber gloves, masks and non-slip shoesSubject to infectious diseases, substances and odorsFollow Safety Policy & Procedures
