Overview

Math Instructor / Tutor (2024 Fall) at Mathnasium. This role is in-person at Mathnasium locations in Newton, West Newton, Needham, Wellesley, Walpole, Brookline, and Belmont. The position starts in September 2024. No official tutoring experience is required, but the role involves helping kids learn math in a fun and upbeat environment.

Your Role

You'll be working with students in grades 1–8, explaining math. All worksheets and lesson plans are prepared by center directors and prepared for you.

Responsibilities

Explain math concepts to students in grades 1–8.
Support students using pre-prepared worksheets and lesson plans.
Contribute to a fun and upbeat learning environment.

Qualifications

Must be strong in math through Algebra 1.

Must enjoy working with kids (1st–8th grade).

SAT Math score 700+ or ACT equivalent.

Must be open to learning new ways of teaching math and working with children.

Must be in 11th grade or older.

Working Hours

Flexible hours — you choose when you work : 2, 3, or 4 shifts per week.

Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu : 3 : 00 pm – 7 : 30 pm; Fri : 3 : 00 pm – 6 : 00 pm; Sat, Sun : 10 : 00 am – 2 : 00 pm (location-dependent).
