Job Description
The Human Resources Technology Consultant applies knowledge of Human Resources (HR) systems and HRIS to recommend and implement effective and scalable solutions to stakeholder requests. The role brings new ideas, identifies process improvements, and manages HRIS projects through planning, requirements gathering, designing, scoping, estimating, configuring, test scenario development and coordination, and deployment. This position provides guidance and oversight to HRIS Analysts for configuration and testing.
Primary Responsibilities
- Consult with business stakeholders to understand needs and recommend best practices for scalable HR systems and processes
- Independently perform foundational, functional, and security configuration in HRIS systems
- Leverage vendor resources to answer advanced questions, solve problems, and make configuration recommendations
- Develop HRIS foundation knowledge and provide basic support for security, business processes, data structures / importing and reporting
- Demonstrate knowledge of HR functional disciplines and system frameworks
- Work with stakeholders to develop project scopes and manage projects to successful completion
- Monitor information needs and design modifications to meet changing requirements
- Serve as liaison with information systems staff to resolve programming problems
- Perform system maintenance and coordinate application upgrades with functional and technical staff
- Focus on product development, delivery, and support using key technologies
- Write and maintain reports, queries, or condition rules
- Lead projects across multiple organization areas and maintain accountability for ongoing activities
- Solve complex problems with new or innovative solutions, using internal and external resources as needed
- Develop procedural documentation and job aids, and oversee documentation development
- Seek opportunities to grow professionally within the HR discipline
- Perform with minimal guidance from HRIS leaders and peers
- Ensure adherence to audit controls
- Provide expertise for HRIS M&A projects
- May lead or direct colleagues
Requirements
High School Diploma or GEDFive years of experience in HRIS or related systems administration / configuration and project management, or equivalent experience in complex HRM systems and projectsPreferences

Learning technology experience (e.g., SAP, Workday, Cornerstone)Workday Extend DevelopmentObject-oriented design / development, testing methodologies (BDD / TDD)Web frameworks and protocols (Ruby on Rails, React, NodeJS, REST, SAML, SOAP)Server-side language and shell scriptingSQL and familiarity with major RDBMS (Postgres, MySQL, Oracle)This position is onsite, with in-office expectations three or more days a week.
