Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
Location : Colmar, PA 18915
Compensation : $15.65 - $20 per hour, depending on experience (DOE)
Program : ABH - Adult Behavioral Outpatient
Schedule : Monday to Friday
Requirements :
Medical Assistant certificate (required)
Minimum of 1 year working as a medical assistant, preferably in a behavioral health setting
Certification in phlebotomy (preferred)
Job Description :
Assist providers with the examination of people in recovery (PIR), including measuring vital signs, venipuncture, and specimen collection for laboratory analysis
Prepare PIR paperwork for provider appointments
Prepare examination rooms for providers
Maintain a steady flow of PIRs in the medical department
Respond promptly to medical emergencies
Complete all required documentation in a timely manner
Provide excellent customer service by answering phones and interacting professionally with program members, staff, clinicians, and visitors
Use the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system to check in clients for appointments
Schedule follow-up appointments and reschedule as necessary
Coordinate closely with medical staff and communicate client arrivals
Assist in resolving client issues to prevent escalation
Utilize de-escalation skills when appropriate
Positively interact with clients while they wait to see medical staff
Adapt to changes in assignments with a positive attitude and teamwork spirit
Accept constructive feedback and demonstrate creative problem-solving skills
Escort PIRs and guests around the facility as needed
