Position Summary
East Cooper Medical Center is seeking a skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapist (OT) specializing in Lymphedema treatment to join our dynamic outpatient team. This position offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact on patient health and wellness through customized care plans focused on improving function, reducing swelling, and enhancing overall quality of life.
Key responsibilities include :
- Administering manual lymphatic drainage, compression therapy, and therapeutic exercises
- Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans based on clinical assessments and physician referrals
- Providing outpatient neuro OT services (optional) for those interested in expanding into neurological rehabilitation
- Treating pediatric patients, including those with developmental disabilities, autism, and sensory integration needs
- Delivering care in a collaborative, supportive, and flexible outpatient setting
- Core Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations and develop appropriate plans of care and rehabilitation goals
- Deliver direct, hands-on occupational therapy services to both inpatient and outpatient populations
- Utilize therapeutic equipment safely and effectively
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation of evaluations and treatments
- Communicate regularly with attending physicians regarding patient progress
- Apply age-appropriate techniques and guidelines in all patient interactions
Education & Licensure
Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degreeLicensed Occupational Therapist in the State of South CarolinaCurrent BLS certification requiredExperience
New graduates are welcome to apply; however, at least one year of professional experience is required to serve as a clinical supervisorExperience working with :Lymphedema patientsPediatric populations with developmental delays or autismSensory integration therapy techniquesInterest or experience in neuro outpatient therapy is a plus
