About the role
Seeking a Senior Solution Architect to lead technical strategy and solution architecture for VA task order proposals. The ideal candidate will have deep experience with VA digital services and IT ecosystems, strong technical writing skills, and the ability to collaborate across teams to deliver agile, secure, and innovative solutions aligned with VA's mission. Job Responsibilities
- Lead technical solutioning and architecture development for VA task order proposals.
- Develop multi-disciplinary solution architectures including software development, service design, user research, data analytics, and product support.
- Collaborate with capture, proposal, delivery, and pricing teams to create compliant, compelling, and cost-competitive proposals.
- Author and review technical volumes, case studies, and presentation materials, ensuring clarity and technical excellence.
- Serve as primary interface with SMEs and partners to design agile, outcome-oriented delivery approaches.
- Stay current with VA technology standards, OMB guidance, and cybersecurity requirements.
- Advise leadership on opportunity fit, teaming strategy, and solution differentiation.
- Contribute to capture strategies, including reusable solution components and past performance.
- Support the development of reusable proposal templates and solution frameworks.
- Participate in post-award transition planning to ensure solution integrity.
- Support leadership in meetings with VA decision-makers to align solutions with VA strategic objectives.
- Identify and integrate emerging technologies into solution roadmaps.

Job Requirements
10+ years of experience in IT solution architecture or related technical leadership roles.Proven experience supporting VA Office of Information & Technology (OIT) and Office of the Chief Technology Officer (OCTO).Demonstrated success leading or contributing to winning proposals under VA CEDAR and / or VA SPRUCE IDIQs.Strong knowledge of Agile, DevSecOps, human-centered design, cloud-native architectures, and OMB Digital Services Playbook.Working knowledge of VA cybersecurity standards including VA Directive 6500, IPv6, and TIC 3.0.Excellent technical writing and storytelling skills for government proposal narratives.Ability to collaborate effectively across capture, business development, proposal, and technical teams.Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or related field; advanced degree preferred.Strategic thinker with hands-on solutioning skills and ability to translate complex requirements into agile solutions.Alignment with VA mission and commitment to Veteran-focused digital modernization.
