Position Title : Music Teacher (Students with Multiple Disabilities)

Status : Part-Time / 3 days per week (21 hours)

Reports To : Assistant Principal / Executive Director

Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and creative Music Teacher to lead engaging music education programs tailored to students with multiple disabilities. The ideal candidate will have experience designing adapted music instruction that enhances communication, motor skills, and social-emotional development.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a music curriculum that meets the diverse needs of students with multiple disabilities.
• Utilize adaptive teaching methods, instruments, and technology to enhance student participation and engagement.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports sensory-friendly experiences.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and paraprofessionals to integrate music into students’ educational and therapeutic goals.
• Modify lesson plans to accommodate varying levels of ability, ensuring accessibility for all students.
• Organize and lead musical activities, performances, or interactive experiences that promote self-expression.
• Assess and document students’ progress in alignment with IEP goals.
• Maintain classroom instruments, equipment, and materials in good condition.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and interdisciplinary planning.

Qualifications

Familiarity with augmentative communication devices and sensory-friendly instruction is a plus.
