Position Overview
Corning Incorporated is seeking an experienced Facility Mechanical / HVAC Engineer to join the Corporate Engineering team. This role will provide engineering leadership and project oversight for HVAC and facility mechanical systems across multiple manufacturing and R&D sites. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in facility systems and strong project management capabilities, with the ability to travel extensively to support operations nationwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead facility mechanical and HVAC system engineering activities, including design, installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
- Develop scope, estimates, schedules, and engineering documentation for capital and expense projects.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and close-out of facility projects, ensuring alignment with performance, cost, and schedule targets.
- Provide engineering guidance for HVAC, compressed air (CDA), process cooling water (PCW), process air, and related facility systems.
- Collaborate with process, plant, division, and R&D teams to support projects across multiple business units.
- Create technical specifications and ensure contractor and vendor compliance.
- Mentor internal engineers, contingent staff, and external contractors.
- Apply structured problem-solving methodologies (DMAIC, K-T, DESGN).
- Prepare forecasts and manage capital and expense budgets.
- Deliver technical reports and presentations to leadership teams.
Travel Requirements
~75% domestic travel to Corning sites and vendor locations.Long-term project assignments (multi-year duration).Work Schedule
Core Hours : Monday – Friday, 8 : 00 AM – 5 : 00 PMFlexibility required for overtime, weekends, and off-shift work to support project milestones.Qualifications : Education
