Job Description
Patrol college buildings and grounds on foot or in a vehicle. Secure or lock buildings when not in use. Render assistance in emergency situations. Arrest individuals who have committed misdemeanor or felony crimes on college property. Check doors, windows, locks and lights and notify the Director, Facilities and Security of needed facility / campus repairs and problems identified while on duty. Controls traffic to ensure compliance with R-CCC rules and regulations on parking and vehicle operation. Issue citations as needed. Investigate and document complaints of unlawful activities, accidents and violations of student regulations. Maintain contact with local Police, Fire, EMT and Director, Facilities Director & Security for emergency situations. Make bank deposits for Business Office as needed. Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED. Valid NC driver's license. Must be at least 21 years of age. Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) certification and meet all requirements to be sworn by Hertford County Sheriff's Office. Must have at least one year of law enforcement experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to write reports. Knowledge of NC general statutes and county ordinances. Assist Administration and Facilities Department when needed.
