Manager, Advanced Practice Providers
The Department of Otolaryngology is seeking a dynamic and driven leader to manage its growing team of Advanced Practice Providers (APPs). This high-impact role oversees a talented group of approximately 18 Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants who deliver exceptional care to both pediatric and adult patients across Middle Tennessee. As Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in optimizing clinical operationsdriving performance metrics such as patient volume, schedule utilization, and lead timeswhile helping shape the strategic direction of a rapidly expanding department.
Vanderbilt Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery (O-HNS) offers collaborative ear, nose, and throat care in a comfortable community setting. Our team works closely with other specialists across Vanderbilt Health to help manage a patient's care, including allergists, gastroenterologists, neurologists, pulmonologists, or audiologists. Vanderbilt Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery offers convenient in-office procedures for several issues, including balloon sinuplasty.
Similar to a private ENT practice, Vanderbilt Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery offers patients quick, comprehensive attention to a variety of ear, nose, and throat issues. Collaboration is a distinguishing characteristic of our practice. Patients have access to specialists within other Vanderbilt Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery groups, as well as to the diagnostic testing, clinical trials, and the latest research and treatment options available at Vanderbilt.
This is a unique hybrid position offering the best of both worlds : approximately 2.5 days per week in clinic providing direct patient care, and 2.5 days dedicated to leadership and operational excellence. You'll have the opportunity to mentor and guide a team of experienced, independent APPs, collaborate with departmental and executive leadership, and influence decisions that directly impact patient outcomes and provider success.

Key responsibilities include : demonstrating experience and effectiveness as a practicing clinician, monitoring performance of the Advanced Practice Team and ensuring alignment with institutional guidance and departmental priorities, adjusting plans in response to operational needs and communicating changes to the Advance Practice Team, and working with departmental leaders to track quality and performance metrics and address gaps.
