As a Physician in a correctional health care setting, you will provide comprehensive, high-quality medical care to patients with diverse health care needs. You will develop individualized treatment plans, manage both acute and chronic conditions, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to promote positive health outcomes. Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) with an active, unrestricted Virginia medical license.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and manage a broad range of acute and chronic illnesses.
- Conduct comprehensive medical evaluations and physical examinations.
- Develop, implement, and monitor patient-centered treatment plans, including prescriptions and follow-ups.
- Educate patients on their conditions, medications, and preventive care practices.
- Collaborate with nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care.
- Refer patients to external specialists when advanced care is required.
- Maintain accurate and compliant electronic health records (EHR).
- Adhere to facility policies and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Stay current on medical guidelines, standards of care, and best practices.
Qualifications
MD or DO with an active, unrestricted Virginia medical license.
Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience, preferably in correctional, urgent care, or primary care settings.Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and decision-making skills.Excellent interpersonal, communication, and documentation abilities.Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a secure facility environment.Pay rate : $135 per hour
