Student Success Coordinator for Engineering

Overview

The Student Success Coordinator (part-time, grant-funded) will work with faculty and students in engineering and math to promote student success. This includes working specifically with student cohorts in the Academic, Mentoring, and Professional Development (AMP) program and with students in their first year of college. The coordinator will be responsible for supporting the various needs of the AMP project.

Responsibilities

• Assist with recruiting for the AMP program, including outreach events, school visits, and campus visit events.
• Oversee group communications, facilitate group activities, and encourage participation in cohort activities.
• Create and maintain an AMP Brightspace page.
• Create and administer surveys.
• Assist with planning and implementing an introductory gathering for AMP students and faculty.
• Assist with the Math Success Camp, typically scheduled just prior to the first day of school.
• Assist with ENGR 185 (Orientation to Engineering) and similar intro / orientation courses in STEM fields.
• Track required participation of AMP students and other first-year students in events (e.g., GPA requirements, attendance, tutoring usage, etc.).
• Assist with events for AMP students, including career fairs and local conference travel.
• Assist with publicity as a co-author on appropriate papers and with social media posts, coordinating with UIndy communications and marketing.
• Follow the guidance and direction of supervisors.
• Demonstrate respectful, ethical, responsible behavior; abide by the University's policies and procedures.
• Perform employee responsibilities as detailed in employee handbooks and policies.
• Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance and punctuality.
• Other duties, including special projects, as required or assigned.
