- Hello! We are an Aerospace manufacturing company based out of Van Nuys, CA (San Fernando Valley). We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer that will be responsible for the improvement of the day to day operations of production floors, and some specific customers / programs. Role will involve understanding and disseminating customer and industry specifications for production personnel, as well as, integrating into floor travelers and workbooks. Manufacturing Engineer will at times need to communicate with External Customers in a support role to Project Managers & Sales, including, but not limited to, Manufacturing Readiness Reviews, Root Cause Analysis findings & new Customer introductions.
- Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Design, develop, and optimize production processes for efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions to streamline workflow.
- Select, install, and maintain manufacturing equipment and tooling.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate repairs or upgrades.
- Support day-to-day production activities by addressing technical issues.
- Provide training to production staff on new processes or equipment.
- seek opportunities to reduce waste and increase productivity.
- Recommend cost-effective materials, tools, and methods.
- Pre-production support (examine customer drawings and notes to see what tools we will need and answer all questions and issues before production starts)
- Support Planning Department and answer any questions they have.
- Investigate product quality issues, implement corrective actions, and ensure product specifications are met.
- Ensure manufacturing processes comply with aerospace industry standards (e.g., AS9100, FAA / EASA regulations).
- Prepare and maintain documentation for audits and regulatory bodies.
- Develop and oversee rigorous quality control protocols to ensure components meet strict tolerances and safety requirements.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for discrepancies or nonconformities.
- Support Tooling department in identifying tools for production and developing calibration procedures compliant with customer and regulatory requirements
- Understand, implement, and train technicians on our ESD program in line with ANSI S20.20 or customer requirements.
Education and Experience :
Minimum of an Associate’s degree with concentration in manufacturing / tooling.8 years experience in manufacturing engineering or a commensurate level of experience with related products.Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.Must have knowledge machining and assembly practices, tools and fixtures.Ability to work with vendors, customers, and employees.Must excel at working in a team environment.Must be familiar with product construction and application.This position requires that the person be a highly organized individual, who is self-motivated, and can work independently.Must have very strong leadership skills, with excellent oral and written communication skills.Must be able to manage multiple tasks and or priorities and easily adapt to changing situations.Will be computer literate.Company Description
