Staff Accountant / Finance Lead

Ascension Global Staffing & Executive Search is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant with leadership experience to join a growing organization in Aventura, FL. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional who has operated as a Lead Accountant, Accounting Manager, or Finance Manager, and is comfortable overseeing a team while remaining deeply involved in day-to-day accounting operations.

This is an in-office position requiring a strong accounting foundation, leadership mindset, and the ability to support financial accuracy and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, journal entries, and month-end close
• Lead, mentor, and support accounting staff; provide guidance and review work for accuracy
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and reconciliations
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
• Collaborate cross-functionally with leadership to support business objectives
• Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency and reporting accuracy

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting( REQUIRED)
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Proven experience leading or managing an accounting team (Accounting Manager, Lead Accountant, Finance Manager, or similar role)
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
• High attention to detail with excellent organizational and communication skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, in-office environment
