This position is a part-time (25 hours per week) grant- funded position.
SCOPE OF WORK : Oversees the operations, functioning, and day-to-day organization of the Air Traffic Control Lab with responsibility for performing mechanical and technical duties associated with the set-up, breakdown, and maintenance of lab equipment related to course instruction and assisting faculty with lab and classroom instruction. This position reports to the Air Traffic Control Program Coordinator at Nashua Community College.
ACCOUNTABILITIES :
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Education : Associate’s degree from a recognized college or technical institute with a major study in Aviation Management, Air Traffic Control, or related discipline.
Experience : Four years’ practical / technical experience as a FAA Air Traffic Controller.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS : Previously Certified Air Traffic Controller; Considerable knowledge of the procedures and practices of an Air Traffic Control Tower Simulator in a training environment; Need to understand operations of a UFA Tower Simulator laboratory to include scenario generation and minor troubleshooting.
Licensure / Certifications : Valid driver’s license or access to transportation for statewide travel. Control Tower Operator (CTO) licensure is preferred.
RECOMMENDED WORK TRAITS : Considerable knowledge of aviation technology. Considerable knowledge of the use of laboratory equipment and skill in the application of techniques utilized in conducting analyses using complicated laboratory equipment. Ability to follow standard laboratory methods and procedures. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Ability to maintain records of lab activities and student progress. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to handle matters with diplomacy and tact. Ability to work independently in the performance of job duties and as a member of a team. Must be willing to maintain appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the college management.
