About The Position

Job Title : Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH)

Location : Aurora, CO

Contract Duration : 2025–2026 School Year

Schedule : Full-time or Part-time, 5 days / week, Day Shift (7 : 30 AM – 3 : 30 PM)

Position Overview

Aurora Public Schools is seeking a dedicated Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) to provide specialized instructional services for students with hearing loss. The ideal candidate will hold a valid Colorado license in Deaf / Hard of Hearing education and be passionate about supporting student success across grade levels.

Key Responsibilities

Provide direct and consultative instructional services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Develop, adapt, and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

Collaborate with general education teachers, special educators, families, and related service providers.

Monitor and assess student progress toward academic and communication goals.

Support use of hearing technology (hearing aids, cochlear implants, FM / DM systems) in the classroom.

Facilitate inclusive practices within the school community.

Schedule & Work Details

School Year : 2025–2026

Shift : 5x7.5 hours (7 : 30 AM – 3 : 30 PM)

Setting : 100% in-person instruction

Job Requirements

Qualifications

Must hold a valid Colorado Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing license (required prior to start).

Strong knowledge of instructional strategies for students with hearing loss.

Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams.

Previous school-based or special education experience preferred.
