Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Coding Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Inpatient Coding, with expertise in various coding systems. This role is essential for ensuring accurate coding of medical records, which is critical for proper billing and reimbursement processes.
Duties
- Accurately assign codes for diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS and DRG classifications.
- Review medical records to ensure completeness and accuracy of documentation prior to coding.
- Utilize EMR and EHR systems for maintaining patient records and ensuring data integrity.
- Stay updated on changes in coding regulations, medical terminology, and billing practices.
Qualifications
Proven experience in medical coding with a strong understanding of ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, DRG, and medical terminology.Previous experience in Inpatient Coding at Academic and Trauma facilities is preferred.Proficiency in using EMR (Epic, Cerner, Meditech, etc) and Encoder (3M, 3M 360, Optum CAC, etc) for effective patient record management and coding.Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.AHIM Certification (RHIA, RHIT, CCS) is a plus but not required.Join our team as a Coding Specialist where your expertise will contribute significantly to our mission of providing exceptional healthcare services while ensuring compliance with industry standards.
