Qualifications
- Heavy equipment repair and maintenance : 3 years (Preferred)
- Hydraulics : 3 years (Preferred)
- Diesel engines : 3 years (Preferred)
- Welding experience : 3 years (Preferred)
- US work authorization
- Drivers License : Valid, unrestricted, CDL preferred but not required
- Clean motor vehicle record
- High school diploma or GED
- Vocational or technical school certification is preferred, but not required
- Punctual and reliable
- Proficiency with required technology, including iOS and MS Windows products
- Strong communication skills
- MSHA certification
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check

Job Description
Commonwealth Equipment has an immediate opening for an experienced, career-minded Heavy Equipment Road Mechanic to join our team.
We are seeking applicants with a minimum of 5 years of verifiable experience in heavy equipment repairs and routine maintenance. The position is based in our Ashley, PA location and reports to the Service Manager.
Skills and Responsibilities
Consistently ensures a safe work environment for self and othersRespond to service calls on remote job sites for equipment such as crushers, screeners, conveyors, shredders, and grindersAbility to operate, inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, service, and maintain equipment, according to technical manuals, wiring and hydraulic diagrams, and spare parts manualsPerform major repair work, such as removal and replacement of componentsPerform all necessary repairs to keep our rental fleet and customer equipment in good operating conditionMaintain tools and keep truck cleanConduct preventative maintenance and recommend wear parts replacement to avoid unnecessary repair and downtimeWillingness to work under various job site conditions, and travel to different sites within the PA-NY-NJ areaWork in a proactive, safe manner in compliance with all safety protocols and trainingDocument work performed and parts used, to ensure timely and accurate billingCheck messages on a regular basis and respond accordinglyProvide daily report to service managerMust be able to diagnose and repair equipment, both independently and with help from othersKnowledge of crushing and screening equipment a plusMust be safety-oriented and exhibit safe work habitsDefensive driving skillsPhysical ability to work under temperature extremes and for extended hours. Normal shift is 8-10 hours.Must be able to work overtime as neededAbility to be flexible with schedule changesRepresent the company in a positive, professional mannerJob Type : Full-time
