JOB DESCRIPTION

WZTV / WUXP / WNAB (FOX 17 NEWS) has an immediate opening for a Director of Digital Content to oversee news content for fairness and accuracy. The ideal candidate will lead a digital team and oversee all digital portals. You will collaborate with digital content producers, newscast producers, anchors, and reporters on daily story selection and news coverage, enforcing strategies outlined by the news director. As a newsroom leader, the Executive Producer is expected to lead by example. A strong commitment to journalism and skills beyond SEO practices are essential to grow our digital news audience. This is not a clickbait operation; the Digital EP must align story production with audience needs to attract and retain digital users.

Responsibilities include :

• Oversee all digital portals to serve local communities with relevant information to alert, empower, and protect audiences
• Supervise content producers and reporters; review scripts and provide feedback to enhance storytelling across platforms
• Ensure continuity across all digital platforms throughout the day
• Use analytics to guide coverage decisions
• Adopt new technology to grow digital platforms
• Enforce digital deadlines
• Manage newsroom operations and breaking news coverage to grow audiences
• Collaborate with News Directors and station managers on special segments
• Work with sales on digital initiatives
• Lead digital coverage during breaking news and weather, including outside scheduled hours
