CNC Lead Operator-Longmont ,CO $26-$33/hr
Fuze HR is proud to partner with a local manufacturing company in Frederick, CO staffing for CNC Lead Operators on 2nd and 3rd Shift, payrate based on experience $26-$33/hr. Company located approximately 10mins off the I-25 Firestone Exit.
About the Role
The CNC Lead Operator is an expert in all aspects of CNC machining, including programming, setup, troubleshooting, and process optimization. This position plays a key leadership role, providing daily guidance, mentoring, and support to the CNC team while ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and production standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently set up CNC machines, inspect parts, and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and efficiency requirements.
- Plan, organize, and prioritize daily work schedules for team members.
- Perform complex machine setups and optimize machining processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical or production issues.
- Write, edit, and optimize CNC programs using G-code.
- Utilize CAD/CAM software to support programming and machining operations.
- Apply advanced knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of tooling, fixtures, and equipment.
- Communicate effectively with all shifts and the CNC Supervisor.
- Attend meetings and represent the CNC department in the Supervisor’s absence.
- Monitor cutter and tooling requirements, reporting needs and concerns promptly.
- Supervise and mentor shift team members, ensuring performance and attendance standards are met.
- Maintain a safe work environment and ensure all safety procedures are followed.
Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years of experience as a CNC machinist.
- Demonstrated ability to independently set up and operate CNC mills.
- Strong understanding of technical drawings and blueprints.
- Proficient in CNC programming, G-code editing, and CAD/CAM software.
- In-depth knowledge of tooling, fixtures, and machining best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
- Shift: Mon-Fri 2nd Shift-3pm-11pm ( $1 shift differential)
- Shift: Sun-Thur 3rd Shift-11pm-7am ( $1.50 shift differential)
- Training Required on 1st Shift: Mon-Thur 6am-4pm ( 4 day training required)
