Manager On Duty
The Manager on Duty (MOD) is responsible for overseeing all daily operations of Goldfish Swim School during their scheduled shifts. This role ensures a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment for families, while supporting and supervising staff to maintain Goldfish Swim School's high standards of customer service, safety, and program excellence.
Requirements :
- Ability to work with children
- Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills
- Must pass background examinations (included with training)
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED (college degree preferred)
- Experience as a certified lifeguard, youth sports instructor / coach, camp counselor and / or childcare provider
- Two or more years of management experience is required
- Two or more years as a swimming instructor is preferred

Assists with the daily operations to ensure the school is running according to GSS standard operating proceduresSupports the General Manager, Assistant General Managers and department managers fulfill all daily tasksAssists with the management of staff at GSS to ensure high productivity, excellent performance and positive employee satisfactionTrains and oversees the aquatics department to provide superior swim instruction to the students of GSSInteracts with all wet side staff on issues related to class scheduling, student progress, service, employee performance and trainingProvides sales training to all qualified sales staffProvides direction in the retail and vending departments to ensure a proper mix of products and pricing is achievedGains knowledge and experience in all technology platforms to achieve a high level of competence in bookings, class scheduling, reporting and administrative functionsGains a high level of knowledge and experience in the GSS pool operations to ensure understanding and satisfaction of Goldfish membersProvides leadership, discipline, constructive feedback, and conducts periodic reviews to Deck Supervisors, Instructors, Lifeguards, and Front Desk Representatives to ensure quality delivery of the Goldfish Swim School curriculum and experienceAssists with the implementation of the Emergency Action Plan and all safety procedures that pertain to the GSS facility, and assist with training current staff on the GSS EAPObtains / maintains CPR / First Aid / AED, Lifeguard, and Lifeguard Instructor certifications and stays up to date professionally on the aquatics and management field(s). All required certifications will be provided internallyFulfills other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the EmployerCertificates and Licenses : Lifeguard, CPR / AED and first Aid certification and shallow water attendant is highly recommended.
Work Environment : While performing this job, the employee is regularly exposed to heat and humidity. Noise level is usually moderate.
