Responsibilities Position is based in the Med / Surg Tele unit of a Level I Trauma, Children's, and Teaching Hospital Patient ratios are typically 1 : 5, with possible 1 : 6, as the hospital operates at over 100% capacity Travelers are expected to float to MS / Tele, PCU, and lower acuity settings based on their skillset, including floating to the ED Use of telemetry equipment and IV starts are required Electronic charting is performed using Cerner Scheduled shifts are 12-hour days (7 : 00 to 19 : 30), with 36 or 48 hour contracts available Weekend shifts are required at a frequency of 2 weekends per 4-week schedule First-time travelers are welcome to apply Hospital is a certified comprehensive stroke center Scrub color is black; scrubs are not provided Holiday coverage may be required depending on unit need Personal transportation is required; a valid non-local driver’s license or documented transportation plan is necessary Drug screening and P / F testing required before start RTO requests over 10 days require approval and cannot be taken during the first 7 or last day of the contract Perm employees may return as travelers if out of the system for 12 months or more Requirements Active NM or compact RN license; pending license accepted at time of consideration Minimum of 1 year recent Med / Surg Tele experience required Certifications required : ACLS, BCLS, NIHSS Experience with IV starts and telemetry required COVID vaccination required; medical and religious exemptions accepted with appropriate documentation No RQI certifications accepted Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-624606.
