Process Engineer – Chemical Manufacturing
GEE Group is working with a well-established industrial manufacturer seeking a Process Engineer to join their operations team. This is a high-impact role focused on optimizing complex equipment systems and driving production excellence from the ground up.
What You’ll Do :
- Champion safety and environmental compliance—set the tone and lead by example.
- Coach, train, and guide team members to build a safety-first, quality-driven culture.
- Support the implementation and fine-tuning of new equipment and processes during plant startup.
- Provide hands-on technical support to improve equipment reliability, throughput, and efficiency across Melt Shop and Roaster operations.
- Lead data-driven continuous improvement initiatives using SPC, DOE, and other methodologies.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to reduce costs, increase productivity, and enhance quality.
- Analyze risk across systems and equipment, recommending and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Act as backup supervisor for operations when needed.
What We’re Looking For :
BS in Metallurgical or Chemical Engineering required (Extractive Metallurgy preferred), MS or MBA a bonus.3–5 years of relevant experience , ideally in heavy or industrial manufacturing.Proven track record of applying Lean principles and driving process improvements.Proficiency in SPC, DOE, and data analysis tools like Minitab and Thermo-Calc.Strong project management instincts : prior supervisory experience is a plus.Technically sharp with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.Fluent in Excel and familiar with project tools like MS Project or Primavera.Familiarity with ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards is a plus.Why It’s Worth Your Time
