Aurora Record Center Job

Supports the controlling and coordinating all record / box requests received at the Aurora Record Center. Performs retrieval, sorting, scanning, and delivery of all types of requested records, as well as destruction of records / boxes, and clerical support. Additional responsibilities may include statistics and other functions related to the daily operations of the Record Center.

Essential Functions

• Maintains the highest level of customer service; answering telephone, email or fax inquiries relating to record requests, ensuring all record requests are retrieved and prepared for scanning or delivery in a timely manner to include bar code scanning of records into and out of the Record Center. Requests can be for Outpatient, Inpatient, Clinic, Radiology or business box / record retrieval, as well as microfilmed / microfiche records.
• Sorts and stages records for refiling, ensuring all filing is up to date.
• Responsible for retrieving STAT records, films and / or visits from the file system and properly track these records. In addition, the associate will follow-up using established procedures to verify all records / visits not found in file.
• Complete daily work productivity forms for statistics.
• Ongoing audits of a percentage of the file system will be conducted daily to ensure terminal digit integrity.
• Participates in record center projects in cooperation with the Record Center Supervisor (i.e. record sorts, re-labeling of records, destruction of boxes, medical records and Radiology Film, shifting of files etc.)
• Receive boxes of records; lifts boxes of records (35 50 lbs) to shelving or removes records from boxes to place on shelving.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
