Accounting Specialist - Senior
Alaskan Copper is seeking a motivated Senior Accounting Specialist to join our Finance team. This role will enjoy a set of responsibilities across multiple Finance functions including Accounts Payable, Job Costing and Billing. The Senior Accounting Specialist reports to the Accounting Manager.
The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and organization skills and be able to manage a variety of duties and priorities. They will exhibit a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and a strong passion to deliver results.
Required Essential Job Skills / Experience :
- Associates degree in Accounting preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience in Accounts Payable preferred.
- Prior experience in job costing preferred.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage shifting duties and priorities.
- Ability to take initiative and produce results.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work part of a team.
Required Essential Job Functions / Duties :
Full-cycle Accounts Payable including three-way matching, check runs, vendor set-up, resolution of vendor inquires and statement discrepancies.Pre-billing review of jobs for cost accuracy.Maintenance of cost accounting files to include job costing, manufacturing overhead and the summarization of monthly activity in preparation for month end close.Reconciliations to include the inventory balance in the general ledger against reports from the inventory system.Prepare and enter data from a variety of sources for customer billing with an emphasis on maintaining accurate inventory costs and balances.Resolve material and cost problems created by returned, cancelled and voided product orders.Manage and order office supplies for the Finance Team.Sorting, filing and other clerical support work.Support for projects and ad hoc duties as requested.Job Accommodations :
