Job Description
The Behavioral Health Specialist is a professional worker who provides community psychiatric support treatment services to the residents. These consist of services focused on treatment and support issues as managing basic needs, development of daily living skills, assistance in accessing natural support systems, overcoming barriers to seeking or maintaining education and employment. All behavioral health related services are designed to prepare / assist the client to function independently in the community setting.
Full Job Description
- Work with clients to assess strengths, abilities, needs, and preferences
- Develop and implement individual treatment plans
- Establish treatment goals and milestones with clients
- Maintains and completes accurate and timely records including documentation consistent with the standards established by ODMH.
- Educate families and groups treatments and prevention programs
- Coordinates, makes referrals, or arranges for appropriate community resources as needed.
- Advocate for clients to ensure equal access to services and equity of treatment.
- Strictly adheres to client’s rights, confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
Benefits :
Flexible working hoursPart-time hours : 30 hours and under (mandatory 20 hours per week to maintain employment status)
Salary : Based upon experience
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree or higherAble to drive personal automobile with a valid Ohio driver’s license, insured vehicle and safe driving recordSensitivity to diverse populationsKnowledge of benefits and entitlements such as SSI / SSD helpful
