Job Overview
The Cotton Foundation is seeking a warm, detail-oriented, and highly organized General Manager to lead guest operations at Taylors Place, our beautiful ranch property in Columbus, TX. As the primary point of contact for all guest experiencesparticularly on weekends when guests are in residenceyou will ensure an inviting, seamless, and memorable stay for all visitors.
In addition to delivering exceptional hospitality, you will oversee the full operations of the guest house, coordinate personalized services, manage property upkeep, and ensure the comfort and care of our guests throughout their visit. While equine operations and therapy development remain part of this role, your core focus will be the daily management of guest services and hospitality. This is a unique opportunity to blend operational excellence with a hands-on approach to service in a serene, mission-driven setting.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Services & Hospitality
- Serve as the main host and point of contact for all weekend guests staying at Taylors Place.
- Oversee all aspects of guest booking, check-in / check-out, and activity coordination.
- Ensure a high standard of cleanliness, comfort, and personalized service across all guest touchpoints.
- Manage guest itineraries, meal schedules, and special requests, including dietary accommodations.
- Lead menu planning and coordinate with chefs and hospitality staff to deliver quality dining experiences.
- Be on-site during weekends to directly manage guest needs, handle any issues, and ensure a premium experience.
Guest House & Property Operations
Manage all aspects of the guest house, including staffing, maintenance, and inventory.Conduct regular inspections to ensure the property remains clean, well-stocked, and guest-ready.Track and manage guest house budgets, costs, and supplies.Staff Oversight & Coordination
Supervise a team of hospitality staff including housekeepers, chefs, and support personnel.Schedule and coordinate weekend staffing to align with guest occupancy.Provide leadership and foster a culture of warmth, professionalism, and service.Additional Responsibilities
Collaborate with the Founder, Foundation Director, and Ranch Team to ensure alignment on facility-wide operations.Assist with fundraising events and on-site hosting as needed.Oversee horse care operations in coordination with the ranch team to support the broader mission.Support the ongoing development of an equine therapy program.Skills and Qualifications
Hospitality-Focused : Proven background in guest services, boutique lodging, or private estate management.Leadership : Experience managing teams in a fast-paced or high-touch environment.Detail-Oriented : Strong organizational skills with the ability to anticipate and meet guest needs.Communication : Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.Hands-On : Willingness to be actively involved in operations, especially during guest stays.Equine Knowledge : Familiarity with horse care is a plus, but not required for success in this role.Flexibility : Must be available on weekends and willing to adapt to changing guest schedules or needs.Why Join Taylors Place?
