American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level III Neonatal ICU position in Nevada requiring a current NV RN license, BLS, and NRP certification.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Position is in a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at an acute care hospitalUnit consists of 26 beds split between Level II and Level III carePatient population includes premature infants (22 weeks and greater), respiratory distress, sepsis, neonatal abstinence, post-op recovery, and infants requiring G-tube / colostomy managementPatient ratios are 1 : 2 for Level III and 1 : 3 for Level II; Hypothermia protocol is 1 : 1Ventilator, Bubble CPAP, NIMV, and nasal cannula equipment are usedEvery infant is on continuous monitoring; RNs are responsible for reading monitor stripsCerner is the EMR utilized on the unitWork schedule includes 12-hour day shifts (7AM-7 : 30PM) with every other weekend requiredFloat to Pediatric unit for infants 28 days or younger and tasking throughout the hospitalNo on-call requirement; all call is voluntaryPrimary responsibilities include comprehensive care of critically ill and premature neonates, including monitoring, medication administration, and collaborating with the NICU teamNo nurse aides are present; RN-to-patient ratios are strictly maintainedNeonatologist on site 24 / 7 for supportHospital-approved OR scrubs provided and required to be wornTwo 12-hour orientation shifts provided for experienced NICU RNs, with additional orientation materials and competency checklistsMust work at least 2 out of the 4 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Year's)First to float among staff if floating is needed\n \n Requirements\n
Active NV RN license, or Compact license if applicable and active at time of considerationMinimum of 2 years NICU RN experience requiredCertifications required : BLS (AHA), NRP; STABLE preferred but not requiredExperience with delivery room, ventilator management, IV / PICC management, and post-op recovery care is requiredRequired to demonstrate skills in titrating drips such as dopamine and dobutamineValid driver’s license required at time of considerationCandidates may not have been employed by any CommonSpirit facility (including CHI or Dignity) as full-time, part-time, or PRN staff in the past yearMust live at least 50 miles from the facility\n Benefits\n
