About The Position

Job Title : Lead Medical Laboratory Scientist

Profession : Medical Laboratory

Specialty : Medical Technologist

Duration : 13 Weeks

Shift : Monday to Thursday or Tuesday to Friday

Hours per Shift : 6 AM to 5 PM

Experience : Minimum of 3 years as a generalist in each specialty of clinical, high complexity testing in a clinical laboratory.

License : Current, unexpired Medical Laboratory Science, Technologist, or Specialist certification from a nationally recognized certification agency.

Certifications : Required certifications as specified above.

Must-Have : Bachelor’s degree in laboratory, biological, chemical, or physical science; Healthcare or Healthcare Management related field.

Description :

The Lead Medical Laboratory Scientist is responsible for oversight of assigned laboratory sections.

Duties include specimen processing, test performance, and reporting test results in compliance with regulatory requirements.

The goal is to ensure quality patient care through adherence to policies and procedures.

The position requires working in a laboratory setting that provides sub-specialties of service.

Services include chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, phlebotomy, blood bank, microbiology, and clinical microscopy.

The laboratory operates 24 hours a day, and the incumbent will work rotational shifts, including day, evening, or night shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Incumbents will initially be trained for bench technologist functions and subsequently assigned to lead duties within specific sections.

Candidates must be qualified and meet all necessary education and experience requirements.
