As part of our growing U.S. manufacturing team in Lafayette, the Assembly Technician will play a critical role in building, testing, and preparing our commercial drones for shipment and deployment. This hands-on position supports production operations and quality standards across DMR's expanding line of drone systems and components.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble drone systems, subcomponents, and related equipment according to technical instructions and quality standards.
- Perform mechanical and electrical assembly, wiring, and calibration of parts and systems.
- Read and follow detailed work instructions, diagrams, and specifications to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Conduct visual and functional inspections of assembled products before quality control review
- Maintain tools, workstations, and materials in a clean and organized manner.
- Collaborate with production leads and engineers to identify and correct assembly issues.
- Support packaging, labeling, and inventory tracking of finished goods.
- Follow all safety protocols and adhere to company procedures in a fast-paced production environment.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or trade school experience preferred.1+ year of hands-on experience in assembly, manufacturing, or mechanical / electrical work.Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.Comfortable using basic hand tools, measuring instruments, and testing equipment.Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and meet production targets.Preferred Qualifications
Experience assembling drones, small electronics, or precision equipment.Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles or standard operating procedures (SOPs).Basic understanding of electrical connections, soldering, or mechanical systems.Comfortable working with ERP or inventory systems for tracking parts and components.Forklift or material handling certification is a plus.Ideal Candidate Profile
