We are proud to that Christiana Hospital, Wilmington Hospital, our Ambulatory Services, and Home Health have all received ANCC Magnet Recognition.\n\nCheck out this important Opportunity : Patient Care Technician / Certified Nursing Assistant Residency Program\nThe (PCT) patient care technician / (CNA) certified nursing assistant residency program is a unique paid 10-week program in partnership with the Delaware Skills Center, Dawn Career Institute and Christiana Care Health System that integrates classroom and clinical components. Upon successful completion of the 6-week Certified Nursing Assistant Course, the individual will take the Delaware State Test for Nurse Aide Certification. The candidate will then transition to Christiana Care and complete approximately 4 weeks of clinical training.\n

  • The first 6 weeks of instructor led didactic and clinical with Delaware Skills Center in New Castle, DE or Dawn Career Institute in Newark, DE\n
  • The following 4 weeks of preceptor led clinical training in an acute care inpatient setting at one of our campuses in Newark or Wilmington\n
  • NOTE : \n\nIf selected for this program – the starting rate of pay will be $16.50 hourly with healthcare benefits during the training and fully paid tuition\n
  • THIS IS PROGRAM IS CRAFTED FOR INDIVIDUAL'S THAT HAVE A DESIRE TO BECOME A CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT\n

  • This program will start on one of the following dates selected for you : \nTuesday, January 20, 2026, and Monday, March 9, 2026\nThis program requires that you attend Full Time for 6 weeks Monday through Friday between 6 : 30am – 4 : 00pm for 6 weeks. Once the residency program is complete, at the end of the 6 weeks, you will be assigned to work in a Christiana Care unit for one year or 1800 hours per agreement. The working locations will be at Newark, DE, or Wilmington, DE Campus working full-time / flex (36 hours weekly / 72 hours bi-weekly) or Part time (24 hours bi-weekly) including every other weekend and rotating holidays (Day / Eve, Evening / Midnight, Day / Midnight and Straight Eve shifts with 8 and 12 hour rotations are being filled with these roles).\nPlease attach your updated resume with recommended cover letter to your application for consideration! Applications without a resume may not be considered due to the high volume of candidates.\n\nPRIMARY FUNCTION : \nThe Patient Care Technician (PCT) supports activities of daily living under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse. The PCT must demonstrate the skills and knowledge necessary to provide care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Primary job duties include, but not limited to, performing and accurately recording vital signs, Accu-checks, bathing, grooming, toileting, feeding, and mobilizing patients. PCT's are an essential part of the nursing care team with an expectation to support the organizations patient safety goals and initiatives.\n\nPRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : \n
  • Demonstrates skills and knowledge necessary to provide care appropriate to patients in various stages of development.\n
  • Performs assigned nursing duties for the comfort and well-being of patients.\n
