About the Clinician's Workday
The anesthesia team works in a collaborative environment with three full-time anesthesiologists and a CRNA-to-MD ratio of 3 : 1. Physicians are expected to supervise CRNAs while also performing their own cases. Charting is done in Cerner, and there are three anesthesia rooms. The case mix includes general surgery, orthopedics, obstetrics, and pediatrics. Shifts are 8-hour days with no in-house call required, but pager call is needed for weeknights and weekends. Overtime is available if desired. Board certification is required, a Maryland license is mandatory, and the typical privileging timeframe is approximately 45 days.
