Hospice Patient Companion Volunteer

Are you an "expressive" type of person who enjoys talking with folks? Do you have compassion and good conversational skills? Do you enjoy activities that are meaningful and fulfilling? How about adding some joy to someone's life? If so, you'll really love serving as a HOSPICE PATIENT COMPANION VOLUNTEER! This position provides a wonderful relationship-building experience, and we need volunteers to cover the Weatherford area! Below are just some of the fun activities you can enjoy with your assigned patient

Make scheduled visits to the patient / family, offering support, help, and enouragement.

Sit and visit with the patint for companionshp, providing respite for family members.

Make crafts with the patient and / or read to them, watch TV or movies with them.

Report patient obsrvations and reactions regarding changes in patient status to the Volunteer Coordinator.

Document your visits on a Volunteer Visit Note and turn them in to the Volunteer Coordinator.

Practice infection control and standard preecautions to ensure the safety of the patient.

Attend in-service and annual memorial services.

Be recognized at our Annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner!
