Northwest Physicians Group formed in 2013 with a focus towards population health management. The group has grown to a network of over 40 providers serving patients at numerous primary, specialty and urgent care locations in Amarillo, Texas. Northwest Physicians Group is affiliated with Northwest Texas Healthcare System, a 495-bed system acute care hospital that serves approximately 650,000 residents of the Texas Panhandle and surrounding region. The system provides acute care services including : cardiac, pediatric, women's, emergency, surgical and behavioral healthcare.

Position : RN / Registered Nurse / Lake View Cardiology

SUMMARY : This position is responsible for performing a wide variety of patient care duties which include assisting in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician.

Job Duties / Responsibilities :

• Interviews patients, measuring vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), venipuncture and procedure as directed by the physician
• Documentation is recorded in the Electronic Medical Record in accordance with IPM guideline
• Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients
• Assists in covering the front desk as required
• Executes prescribed treatments and medical interventions, administers prescribed medications, and monitors and documents treatment progress and patient response
• Delegates as allowed under the Nurse Practice Act
• Refers to / consults with physicians, other health providers, and community resources to prevent / resolve problems or concerns
• Educates patients and families about health status, health maintenance, and management of acute and chronic conditions

Independence Physician Management (IPM), a subsidiary of UHS, was formed in 2012 as the physician services unit of UHS.
