Currie & Brown is currently looking for an Electrical Estimator. The successful candidate(s) will support project leaders in generating a high standard of service delivery, achieving successful outcomes for our clients, capturing and sharing knowledge across projects, enhancing our culture of innovation and reinforcing our reputation as a preferred service provider.
Responsibilities for the successful candidate(s) will include :
Preparing and analyzing (scoping) electrical construction costs and estimatingAssisting in negotiating and managing all direct construction costs with trade contractorsUndertaking responsibility for driving the estimating and cost management function for assigned projects, including benchmarking, cost control and cost reportingProviding leadership regarding cost and direction to the client’s project management team on assigned projectsSupporting and partnering with procurement, value engineering, LEED analysis and lifecycle cost studiesUndertaking responsibility for maintaining the accurate current project cost status on a weekly basisLeading change order meetings and collaborating with project manager in validating and pricing the changes across multiple trade specialtiesParticipating in the review of estimates for completeness and accuracySupporting the training / mentoring of estimating staffRequirements :
Degree in engineering, construction management, quantity surveying, mathematics or related fieldA minimum of five years’ construction estimating experience preferably in the oil and gas, high-tech or industrial environmentsMembership of relevant professional organization highly preferred, eg RICS, ASPE, AACEIExperience with advising clients on value management, value engineering and lifecycle costingGood organization and multi-tasking skillsStrong professional interpersonal skills and appreciation of challenges involved in working within a clients’ office environmentStrong presentation skills with ability to chair and run scope and estimate review meetingsCurrie & Brown is one of the world’s leading physical assets management and construction consultancies, dedicated to advising clients in respect of the management and utilization of their physical assets, and is differentiated by innovation, expertise and experience.
