Director, Category Management Linen, Terry and Filled Goods, US & Canada
The Director, Category Management Linen, Terry and Filled Goods, US & Canada is a part of the lodging product and continent procurement team which is responsible for taking ideas into implementation across all brands, disciplines, and continents, and reports to the Sr. Dir, US / CN Procurement. This role will be responsible for driving best-in-class category management and strategic sourcing for linen, terry, amenities, filled product and other rooms related categories. The Director drives adherence to and communication of Marriott procurement policies and processes, serves as a point of escalation for issues, delivers effective communications at all levels (including to executive leadership), and leads cross-functional teams on projects and procurement initiatives. As a key member of the Procurement team, this leader will partner closely with corporate, continent, and discipline leaders to develop and execute procurement strategies, enhance supplier governance and drive responsible sourcing and financial sustainability.
Candidate Profile
Education and Experience Required : 4-year bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Finance, Hotel Management, or related sector. 10+ years of business, finance and / or procurement experience. Deep technical knowledge of category management and strategic sourcing. Strong project / program management skills and ability to independently manage multiple projects simultaneously. Proven ability to lead and develop a high-performing team. Demonstrated ability to create strategy and implement change in a highly matrixed cross-discipline environment. Ability to travel up to 30%.
Preferred : Graduate / post graduate degree. Strong understanding of category drivers within the rooms manufacturers categories and creation of but not limited to category management plans. Ability to create multi-year strategies based on data analysis stakeholder feedback and clearly promote the strategy to property management and operational teams. Robust understanding of the Rooms categories within the hospitality industry, including but not limited to Textiles, Amenities and OS&E.
