This position reports to the Manager, Information Systems. Procures, installs, and maintains personal computers, printers, network connectivity, installs and troubleshoots applications / issues, plan and implement new technologies. Plan and coordinate system updates and upgrades to ensure timely completion. Conduct system audits for misuse. Oversee the functional aspects of systems supporting Witham Health Services. Participates in on call rotation schedule. May need to cover daily help desk shifts as needed. Coordinates and / or supports current and upcoming projects as assigned.
Minimum Requirements :
- Minimum Associates degree or equivalent Technical degree required in Information Systems or related work experience.
- Experience with PC's, printers, peripheral devices, and networking is required.
- Experience with phone systems is desired.
- This position requires communication and interaction with co-workers, other departments, and vendors.
Essential Functions
- Assist with user support of IS systems. Know how to replace and / or reset devices. Know wiring closets and cabling requirements. Report additions, modifications and deletions monthly to department director.
- Coordinate PC purchases, installations, updates, and upgrades. Assist with testing as needed. Maintain records within Information Systems. Obtain multiple-vendor best pricing. Provide line item dollar amounts on the purchase quotes. Provide a timeframe to the user and to the department director for installation.
- Train users in the operation of computer equipment and software. Document training for a yearly review.
- Assist with network hardware, cabling and performance issues. Document and review monthly with department director. Review delays daily.
- Maintain equipment inventories. Document and review quarterly with department director.
- Assist with network user setups. Document and review with department director.
- Assist with network infrastructure and performance issues. Document and review monthly with department director. Review delays daily.
- Keep abreast of problems due to hardware, software, space, and procedures that cannot be completed. Report problems or delays in a timely manner. Document for review monthly with department director. Review delays daily.
- Utilizes help desk ticketing system to communicate with end user and resolve tickets as assigned.
- Assures customer service meets or exceeds expectations of customers. Treats all customers with courtesy and respect.
- Other duties as assigned. Adaptable to changes in work schedules and interruptions in work.
