Journalism and Democracy Instructor
The Center for Community News at the University of Vermont (UVM) is seeking applications for a non-tenure-track instructor of journalism, to begin in the Spring 2026. This position is part of a collaboration between CCN and the Department of Sociology in the Colleges of Arts & Sciences, where it will be housed. Successful candidates will help build CCN's Democracy and Journalism program through applied journalism instruction and a deep understanding of the role of ethical, trustworthy news in a thriving democracy.
Minimum Qualifications :
Qualifying candidates will :
have 5+ years of experience as a working journalist
have strong relationships with news outlets
have strong relationships with news outlets
Additional preferred qualifications include :
experience working with national news organizations.
