Overview

Job Title : Junior Python Software Engineer

Location : Hybrid – NY Office / WFH

Work Schedule : Full-time, 40 hours per week

Reporting To : Head of Product Development and Strategy

Position Overview :

We are seeking a curious and driven Junior Python Software Engineer with a strong interest in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to join our product development team. This is a great opportunity for someone with academic or early professional experience in AI / ML who wants to apply their skills in a fast-paced financial technology environment.

You'll collaborate with experienced engineers and data scientists to help design, build, and maintain AI-powered features that enhance our trading infrastructure. This role offers hands-on exposure to real-world applications of AI in finance, including automation, analytics, and intelligent decision support. Additionally, you will be working on web applications and APIs using the Django framework.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in developing and integrating AI / ML models into trading systems.
Support model deployment, monitoring, and performance tuning.
Write clean, efficient Python code for data processing and system integration.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging.
Work within Linux / Unix environments to build and deploy applications.
Learn and contribute to client-facing features and internal tools.

Qualifications

Academic coursework, internship, or early work experience in AI / ML or data science.

Proficiency in Python and familiarity with libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.

Understanding of basic software engineering principles and version control (e.g., Git).

Interest in systems integration and real-time data processing.

Understanding of Django's architecture, ORM, and templating engine.

Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn in a collaborative environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with real-time data or interest in trading systems.

Exposure to cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure) for machine learning deployment.

Interest in financial services, market data, or electronic trading.
