Located in the heart of Downeast Maine, this 25-bed acute care facility offers state-of-the-art technology and specialty services uncommon in rural hospitals. Serving Machias and Washington County, the facility has evolved since its founding in 1960, with several expansions over the years to accommodate growing needs. Notable improvements include an expanded emergency department completed in 2017, with nine private rooms, state-of-the-art monitoring, and a newly designed entrance for better access.
