Job Details – Labor & Delivery RN Travel Assignment

Location : Midlothian, Virginia (zip 23114) – Richmond area healthcare jobs

Assignment Type : Travel Nursing

Unit : Labor & Delivery (L&D) – 12 beds, high acuity

Duration : 13 weeks (Start : 11 / 17 / 2025, End : 2 / 14 / 2026)

Shift : 12-hour nights (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM), every other weekend and major holidays required

Hours per Week : 36

On-call : Up to 24 hours per 6 weeks

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1990-$2130

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active RN license in Virginia or compact state (required for Virginia nursing jobs)

Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery experience in a hospital setting

Clinical experience in antepartum, intrapartum, cesarean section, postpartum, and magnesium sulfate administration

Certifications : BLS (required), ACLS, NRP, Fetal Heart Monitoring (preferred)

Preferred experience with EPIC and Perinatal Centricity (QS) EHR systems

Ability to scrub / assist in deliveries preferred

Proficiency in fetal heart monitoring, OR, cardiac monitoring, warmer, and blood glucose monitoring

Must be able to float within the New Life Center or to other Labor & Delivery units in Richmond

No local travelers (must reside outside a 50-mile radius)

Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities

Deliver compassionate, family-centered nursing care to women, newborns, and families throughout labor and delivery

Perform patient assessments, develop individualized care plans, and evaluate outcomes

Safely administer medications and interventions, including magnesium sulfate and emergency medications

Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vital signs, perform vaginal exams, and assist with cesarean sections and deliveries

Educate patients and families on postpartum care, breastfeeding, and discharge planning

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal maternal and neonatal outcomes

Float to other L&D units as needed and provide care for high acuity patient populations, including those with language barriers, substance abuse, and chronic conditions

Maintain professionalism, uphold safety standards, and participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives
