JOB SUMMARY :

Under general supervision this position is responsible for guiding students toward meaningful career paths and experiential learning opportunities. Responsibilities include Planning and implementing career readiness programs facilitating partnerships with local businesses teaching college level coursework ensuring students gain access to internships job shadowing and other work-based learning experiences. P roviding career counseling / coaching to help students identify their interests strengths and potential career paths. Leading and supporting student activities and school wide events. Communicating with students staff parents and other stakeholders about career development and planning.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES :

Career Planning and Readiness

• Provide one-on-one career counseling to students to help them identify interests strengths and potential career paths.
• Develop and deliver workshops on topics such as resume writing interview preparation and professional etiquette.
• Collaborate with teachers and counselors to integrate career exploration activities into the curriculum.

QUALIFICATIONS KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS :

PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

This position requires an ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time and to present verbal lectures / demonstrations walk bend lift reach up stoop and carry items occasionally in excess of twenty-five (25) pounds. Some lifting of computer and electronic equipment may be required. It also requires manual dexterity to operate standard office machines such as copier fax calculator telephone and other equipment as necessary. IRSC expects its employees to follow proper safety standards while employed by the College.

To perform this job successfully the employee must possess the abilities or aptitudes to perform each duty proficiently. Additionally all employees of the institution are expected to maintain professional standards of communication able to learn and apply new technology and abide by all policies and procedures.
