Responsibilities Work in a float pool covering a variety of medical, surgical, and intermediate care (IMC) units within a hospital setting Patient populations include cardiac, spine, neuro, and complex medical-surgical cases 12-hour evening and night shifts (19 : 00–07 : 30) with every other weekend and holiday rotation required based on operational needs Travelers are the first to float and may be reassigned shifts to other units or locations within the organization as needed Use of EPIC EMR is required Basic arrhythmia interpretation skills and telemetry testing required prior to starting Responsibilities include floating across units, caring for diverse patient populations, and providing evidence-based, patient-centered care Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including nurses, nursing assistants, therapy staff, and advanced practice providers Opportunities available to serve as mentor, preceptor, and participate in quality improvement initiatives Strict tele / arrhythmia pass / fail testing requirements enforced pre-assignment Initial orientation provided according to department schedule at the hospital location First-time travelers may be accepted depending on unit needs Refer to dress code and scrub color policies outlined in assignment materials Holiday scheduling is required per department needs RTO requests generally limited to two weeks per contract, subject to manager approval Requirements Active RN license in WI or a compact RN license from permanent address state, in hand at time of consideration Current American Heart Association BLS certification is required At least two years of acute inpatient RN experience within the last three years, including experience in multiple Med / Surg specialties EPIC charting experience required Telemetry competency, including passing telemetry exam before start (two attempts allowed), with ability to identify lethal arrhythmias Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the assigned primary work site location Local candidates are not accepted Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-621570.
