Shipping & Receiving Clerk (Shift Rotation Weekday Nights)
Reporting to the Transportation Supervisor, the Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for managing activities in the Shipping and Receiving Office and serves as the primary point of contact for all incoming and outgoing drivers. The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is tasked with completing paperwork, maintaining schedules, and ensuring that all documents are accurate and error-free. Additionally, the Clerk provides necessary information both internally and externally as required.
Key responsibilities include signing drivers in and out of the facility, verifying all necessary paperwork; assigning dock doors for inbound and outbound loads; maintaining accuracy in door assignments and updating the yard report for trailer inventory; processing Bills of Lading along with other shipping and receiving documents; reconciling inbound shipments with packing slips and coordinating drop lot activities; coordinating yard movements with the spotter / yard jockey; providing exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers; maintaining and managing inbound and outbound schedules; collaborating closely with shift management and leads to accomplish daily shift goals; reporting any errors or issues to the appropriate leadership member to ensure accuracy; ensuring warehouse equipment is used effectively and safely; performing safety inspections and audits as required; and promoting a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to established standards and procedures.
Qualifications include 3+ years of experience in inbound / outbound logistics, warehousing, or distribution center (DC) operations; previous experience in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) and / or Food & Beverage industries; excellent verbal and written communication skills; proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; proven decision-making and problem-solving abilities; familiarity with computer ordering systems and other IT-related systems; fluency in English; additional language skills are considered an advantage; physically able to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as required; capable of regularly lifting, moving, and placing up to 25 pounds of inventory and / or advertising displays as needed; willing to work in environments involving moving mechanical parts and outdoor weather conditions; responsible for ensuring overall safety and the safe operation of motor vehicles; committed to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by following company standards and procedures; and a high school diploma or G.E.D. is required.
