Must-Have :

Basic Med / Tele skillset including cardiac rhythm interpretation.

Experience with non-titrating cardiac drips (Cardizem / Amiodarone).

Wound care and drain / tube management.

PIV starts and central line management.

Description :

This position is for a MedSurg / Tele RN.

The facility has 241 licensed beds and is recognized as a Level 3 Trauma Center.

It has a certified Chest Pain Center and a certified Stroke Center.

The unit has 32 beds, typically accommodating an average census of 32 patients per day.

Patient types include strokes, respiratory illnesses (flu, pneumonia, COVID), renal failure, peritoneal dialysis, and wounds.

The patient-to-RN ratio is 1 : 5.

Support within the department includes CNAs for ADLs, mobility, and feeding.

Phlebotomy services are available, and there are dedicated teams for IV care.

RT services are accessible 24 / 7.

Hospitalists and intensivists are also available around the clock, along with telemetry monitoring and tech support.

The EMR used is Epic, and IV pumps, medication dispensing systems, and monitors are available in the unit.

Floating may be required within the regional scope of practice based on operational needs.

Orientation spans two days at the departmental level.

Travelers are expected to work weekends on a rotating basis and will cover 75% of holidays.

Requests for time off can be approved for up to six days, excluding holidays, and must be added to the end of the contract if necessary.

Shift times include 0630-1900 and 1830-0700, with a schedule cycle of every six weeks.
