Position Overview

The Concrete Estimator will be responsible for evaluating project requirements and developing accurate cost estimates for concrete construction projects. The ideal candidate will collaborate with project managers and contractors to ensure bids are competitive while maintaining profitability and quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review project plans and specifications to prepare thorough and accurate estimates for concrete work.
  • Collaborate with project managers to analyze project scopes and requirements.
  • Utilize PlanSwift and Procore software to produce detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates.
  • Prepare and submit competitive bids while adhering to project timelines.
  • Communicate with suppliers and subcontractors to gather pricing and material information.
  • Assess project risks and develop mitigation strategies related to cost and resources.
  • Maintain records of estimates, bids, and project changes throughout the bidding process.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as a concrete estimator or in a similar role within the construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of concrete construction techniques and materials.
  • Proficient in estimating software, particularly PlanSwift and Procore.
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills to ensure accurate estimates.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills for dealing with clients and suppliers.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
