Job description

Job Summary :

Seeking a highly experienced and certified Senior ASPICE Assessor to join our team. This critical role will be instrumental in driving and ensuring the highest levels of process maturity and quality within our automotive development lifecycle, specifically focusing on achieving and maintaining Automotive SPICE Levels 3.1 and 4. The Senior Assessor will lead comprehensive ASPICE assessments, provide expert guidance for process improvements, conduct detailed gap analyses, and develop and deliver targeted training programs to elevate the team's adherence to ASPICE best practices.

Key Responsibilities :

ASPICE Assessment and Auditing :

  • Lead and conduct independent Automotive SPICE assessments (both internal and potentially external / supplier-facing) for projects within the HIL Test organization, with a strong focus on achieving and verifying ASPICE 3.1 and 4 maturity levels.
  • Perform comprehensive process audits to verify adherence to established ASPICE processes and identify areas of non-compliance or improvement opportunities.
  • Plan, execute, and report on assessments, ensuring objectivity, consistency, and adherence to recognized assessment methodologies (e.g., ISO / IEC 330xx series).
  • Ensure proper documentation and traceability of assessment findings and action plans.

Process Improvement and Gap Analysis :

  • Conduct detailed gap analyses against ASPICE 3.1 / 4 requirements specifically tailored to HIL testing, software development, and system integration processes.
  • Define, propose, and facilitate the implementation of pragmatic and effective process improvements to close identified gaps, enhance overall process maturity, and streamline workflows within the HIL domain.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams, quality assurance, and project management to embed ASPICE best practices into daily operations and tools.
  • Training and Coaching :

  • Develop, customize, and deliver comprehensive ASPICE training programs tailored to various roles within the HIL Test team, including engineers, test leads, project managers, and quality personnel.
  • Provide expert coaching and mentoring to teams and individuals on ASPICE principles, work product creation, process adherence, and effective implementation strategies.
  • Foster a proactive culture of quality, continuous improvement, and ASPICE awareness across the organization.
  • Process Definition and Documentation :

  • Contribute to the definition, development, and maintenance of Ford's internal automotive development processes, ensuring alignment with Automotive SPICE v3.1 / v4.0, ISO 26262 (Functional Safety), and other relevant industry standards (e.g., ISO / SAE 21434 for Automotive Cybersecurity).
  • Ensure process documentation is clear, concise, accessible, and effectively communicated to all stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Management and Reporting :

  • Communicate assessment findings, recommendations, and progress effectively to senior management, project teams, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Track and report on ASPICE maturity levels, process improvement initiatives, and the overall health of the quality management system within the HIL Test team.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and primary point of contact for all ASPICE-related inquiries within the HIL Test organization.
  • HIL Specific Context :

  • Apply deep understanding of ASPICE principles specifically within the context of Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing, including requirements management, architectural design, software unit testing, integration testing, system testing, test case design, test execution, defect management, and configuration management for HIL environments.
  • Ensure robust traceability from customer requirements through HIL test specifications, test cases, and results.
  • Required Qualifications BELOW :

    Education :

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Automotive Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
  • Experience :

  • Minimum of 7+ years of progressive experience in automotive software / system development, quality assurance, process improvement, or a similar role.
  • Proven, hands-on experience in conducting and leading Automotive SPICE assessments for complex embedded systems.
  • Demonstrable track record of driving significant process improvements and successfully guiding teams towards higher ASPICE maturity levels (ideally up to Level 3 or 4).
  • Strong understanding of HIL testing methodologies, test automation, and related automotive validation processes.
  • Certifications :

Certified Automotive SPICE Provisional Assessor (v3.1 or v4.0) is mandatory.

Certified Automotive SPICE Competent Assessor (v3.1 or v4.0) is highly preferred.

    Technical Skills :

  • In-depth knowledge of Automotive SPICE v3.1 and familiarity with the upcoming v4.0.
  • Solid understanding of ISO 26262 (Functional Safety) principles and their application in automotive development.
  • Proficiency with relevant tools for requirements management (e.g., IBM DOORS Next Generation, Polarion), configuration management (e.g., PTC Windchill, Git), change management (e.g., Jira), and test management (e.g., Azure DevOps, HP ALM).
  • Demonstrated ability to create and deliver impactful technical training materials and presentations.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience working directly with HIL test benches, simulators, and associated software / hardware components (e.g., dSPACE, ETAS, Vector VT System).
  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies (Scrum, SAFe) in an automotive context and how they integrate with ASPICE.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity standards such as ISO / SAE 21434.
  • Experience working in a global, matrixed organization.
  • Additional certifications in quality management (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, Certified Quality Engineer).
  • Additional Skills :

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate, and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities, capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • High level of autonomy, self-motivation, and a proactive, results-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a contributing member of a cross-functional team.
