In-House Counsel

Responsibilities

:

The In-House Counsel will:

• Analyze claims and litigation in order to formulate early case assessment and resolution strategy
• Prepare risk assessment and case updates for presentation to manager for settlement authority or other necessary approvals
• Draft and revise legal papers, including pleadings, declarations, discovery demands, and responses
• Handle or assist with court proceedings (including Federal and State court appearances), arbitrations, mediations, and depositions
• Supervise e-discovery process, directly managed by Paralegals
• Manage litigation budgets and associated reporting requirements
• Provide advice to business leaders with an objective of minimizing potential future liability exposure
• Assist with development of company-wide compliance programs, including assisting with policy drafting and creation of training modules
• Review warranties, packaging and certain marketing materials provided to consumers
• Perform other duties, as needed

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctorate
• Admission to the NJS Bar
• Great interpersonal skills
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Strong attention to detail
• Highly organized
