The Assistant General Manager (AGM) plays a critical leadership role in supporting the General Manager in all aspects of daily restaurant operations. This includes managing staff, ensuring excellent guest experiences, overseeing financial and inventory controls, and helping to maintain the brand standards of L’Antica Pizzeria Da Michele USA. The AGM ensures a seamless, service-focused environment while developing team members and upholding company values.
Key Responsibilities :
Assist the General Manager with daily operations, including service supervision, scheduling, and staff coordination
Oversee floor operations during peak hours to ensure consistent and high-quality service
Lead and motivate front-of-house and back-of-house teams; ensure performance standards and accountability
Assist in hiring, onboarding, training, and coaching of team members
Support cost controls including labor, food and beverage, and operational supplies
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, company policies, and local laws
Address guest concerns and resolve issues with professionalism and urgency
Help manage inventory, place orders, and ensure proper stock levels
Participate in weekly financial and operations reporting; identify areas for improvement
Represent the brand with a commitment to excellence in hospitality and guest satisfaction
Step in for the General Manager when they are off-site or unavailable
Required Qualifications :
2–4 years of experience in a management role within a high-volume restaurant or hospitality setting
Proven leadership and team development skills
Strong knowledge of restaurant operations, financials, and guest service best practices
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Food Handler’s and (if applicable) Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certifications
Proficiency in POS systems (Toast preferred), scheduling software (e.g., Sling), and basic office tools
Preferred Qualifications :
Bilingual (English / Spanish or other) is a plus
Experience with Italian cuisine or fine-casual dining concepts
Familiarity with restaurant compliance, HR basics, and vendor management
