ABOUT THE COMPANY :
Client has been providing comprehensive financial services to residential and commercial clients in Madison, WI and the surrounding areas since 2013. We're a small, growing firm with a long history of success in the areas of individual, corporate, trust, estate, and gift tax return preparation, along with consulting, bookkeeping, and payroll. Our focus is to deliver assurance, tax, accounting, and specialized solutions that provide the information needed to successfully manage our client's business and everyday life. We assist our clients with creating a growth plan combined with a tax strategy to leverage any potential tax benefits that may exist.
JOB SUMMARY :
Prepare and review business and individual tax returns
Review less senior team members completed tax returns for accuracy, and provide feedback for learning opportunities
Establish and maintain client and staff relationships
Tax planning and projections requested by clients
Research tax issues
Provide recommendations for internal process improvements
Maintain an understanding and knowledge of changes in tax law by reading professional literature or attending tax seminars and training courses
Consult with clients to develop a basic understanding of their financial affairs and the scope of their tax liabilities
Answer calls and emails from clients in a timely manner
Utilizes strong analytical, research and critical thinking skills, as well as decision-making skills to assist with client needs regarding individual and business decisions
Perform other related duties as assigned
PREFERRED SKILLS :
CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or EA (Enrolled Agent) designation preferred
Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred
Minimum 5 years tax preparation experience
Wolters Kluwer CCH Axcess tax software experience preferred
Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment
Willingness to be a team player
General proficiency with Microsoft Teams, Excel, Word, and Outlook
